Abstract

The estimation and trend for the sale of truck spare parts over twelve months horizon is a crucial planning for all those people who have a managerial or strategic position in any company which is dedicated to merchandise this kind of items. A model estimation based on least squares and Bayesian Networks (MBN) is developed using six variables which are identified economic indicators and daily sale of truck spare part variable is calculated in order to get its trend. The empirical results suggest that MBN can significantly improve the estimation for sale of truck spare part for 12-month ahead prediction in order to generate a strategy with others areas such as marketing, purchasing and logistics.
