Abstract

Since multimedia has been penetrating in people’s daily life, it is playing more critical and influential role in the modern society. This report aims to providing a brief but thorough picture of multimedia technology, by providing basic background knowledge about multimedia. Along with the development of technology, more and more industries have adopted multimedia technology as an assisting tool, meaning that multimedia has proved its positive impact to the world, as a force of driving advancement. However, it should also be admitted that technology has adverse effect towards the society, which induced a series of ethical even legal issues. In these contentious issues, what perspective do individuals have, and how should they behave if get involved? Especially IT professionals, as experts with technological power, what position do they stand to defend the morality and belief of the society? These questions will be explored in this report.
